Social

Before our eyes,
they are transformed
into the lovely, graceful beings
we always knew they would be and it is
A Beautiful Thing to Behold

There comes a time in a mother's life that she must witness her daughter blossoming into a beautiful young woman. My time has come!
Dakota, Channon and I set off to capture these photos of Dakota in her dress for the Social christmas dance.
Dakota recently joined Social with her dance partner, Austin. It is here that she will learn the social graces of becoming a proper young lady and learn all of the social dances.
I must say that we certainly had quite a time taking these pictures. It warms my heart to see the true feminine beauty shine out of her.

Channon had her pictures taken as well. She was our flower holder. When she reaches the right age, she wants to join Social too.

Our beautiful girls.

Here was one of our moments when I was trying to get that gorgeous smile and saying that "special" name made her embarrassed.

Catching up

It has been quite a while since I have added anything new. We have been extraordinarily busy lately. Logan is playing soccer for a travel club. (yes, perfect timing for gas price hikes and shortages!) We have had to reschedule 2 games already due to gas concerns. More importantly, he has been excelling at Civil Air Patrol. He and Garrett are leading the Color Guard and he has also been promoted to Cadet 2nd. Lt. Here are some pictures from the ceremony for everyone to see. We are super proud of him.

Dakota has also kept us incredibly busy. She has joined a home school basketball team as well as joined Social. Social, for those of you that do not know, is an organization here in Augusta that kids from 7th grade up can join to learn the social graces as well as many styles of dance. She had to find a dance partner for this. Her dance partner, Austin, is painfully shy, plays football for his school and is somewhat apprehensive about this whole dance thing. So far they have learned the Fox-trot and will be learning several more dances including the Waltz, Shag, and other current dances. She is very excited, despite Austin's lack of enthusiasm, and is looking forward to the Christmas dance, Valentine's Day Father-Daughter dance and the big Spring formal. She recently found a great deal on 2 very beautiful formal dresses. (Her girly side is showing!!! :) ) Here is a snapshot of she and Austin ready for class number 1.

And finally, Channon!

Channon has been the most patient little angel.(on most days) She has been a gem at tolerating going to endless soccer and basketball practices. She is waiting on a call from the local Girl Scout troop leader. That is all she really wants to do with her time is find a Girl Scout troop. Hopefully they will call soon. She had a special cake made for her 9th birthday. Personally that was a lot of fun to make.
